Hello, my name is Jason Wiwad. I am the Director of Families and Youth at Calvary Lutheran Church. I have been involved in youth ministry since 1997 in a variety of different roles.
During that time I have formed relationships with many youth and have really come to see that youth and family ministry is the most important part of any church. With that said I have also seen how youth ministry has changed as our culture and society are changing. Youth today are living in a world that attacks the family and church structure as a whole. In the area of Youth and Family Ministries here at Calvary we seek to uphold Calvary's mission statement which is to "Worship", "Witness" and "Serve", So that all may know Christ. We do this in many ways with Confirmation, Sunday School, Youth events like: Nerf Nights, Road Hockey, M2M missions trip etc.
Luke 2:52 says that "Jesus increased in wisdom, stature in favour with God and in favour with man". We see he grew Mentally, Physically, Spiritually and Socially. The previous verse captures what the Youth and Family ministry at Calvary is all about. We trust in God and we allow him to shape our lives in all of these areas.
