(why we exist)
We exist:
so all may know Christ.
(what God wants us to be)
A loving family of Christ's disciples
preparing all to use their unique God-given gifts wherever and however called, providing a sanctuary in a hurting world where healing occurs through Christ’s transforming power so that people are led to the Cross of Christ
seeking to be in the world, not of the world,
strong, joyful, united
bound by truth
saved by grace
through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
(what will never change)
Prayer - We are nourished by prayer. Prayer is the first and most important thing we
do to ensure that we are aligned with the Lord's will for ourselves and our church. We pray with one another and
for one another. No decisions are made without prayer.
Evangelism - We study the gospel and do our best to understand it. We help each other
live and share the gospel. We reach out to those who do not know Christ.
"I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, beg you to lead a life
worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all lowliness and meekness, with patience, forbearing
one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."
(Ephesians 4:1-3 RSV).
But make sure in your hearts that Christ is Lord. Always be ready
to give an answer to anyone who asks you about the hope you have. Be ready to give the reason for it. But do it gently
and with respect.
(1 Peter 3:15).
Scripture - We are totally scriptural. We strive to live our life together according to the scriptural norms as practiced everywhere and always by the one holy catholic and apostolic church. Scripture is our first and final authority and all our actions are ultimately aligned with scripture.
